What happens to your property when you die?

When you die, your property needs a new owner.

There are two ways –

Your property can be left by will as an inheritance. The executor will follow the directions in the will. If there is no will, your close family will inherit.

Tip: Include directions in the will about what is to happen to the property.
If the property is a family home, no will is needed if owned by a couple as joint tenants. The title transfers to the survivor when one dies.
